Bill Dahling is of counsel of the Trusts and Estate Planning, Administration & Litigation practice group of Best Best & Krieger LLP. Bill’s practice at BB&K focuses on estate planning, trust administration and probate.  He has worked with families for nearly 17 years to help plan their estates, assist when an incapacitating event arises and counsel surviving spouses or the next generation following a death.  He has extensive experience with not only the full range of estate and gift tax minimization and deferral techniques available under current law but also the emotional and psychological aspects of planning for the possibility of incapacity and the certainty of death.  Bill believes that the establishment, maintenance and implementation of an estate plan allows clients to determine how they will be cared for when they can no longer manage on their own and express their values to the individuals and institutions in their lives that they care for.

Bill graduated from Williams College with a B.A. in Political Economy in 1978.  He received his J.D. in 1983 from the University of Michigan Law School.  Bill practiced for three years with a firm in the Detroit area before joining BB&K in 1986.  In addition to the American Bar Association and The State Bars of Michigan and California, Bill is a member of the Riverside County Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Section.  He is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Riverside County and the Inland Empire Planned Giving Roundtable.

Bill is married to Kimberly J. Devlin; she is a Professor of English at the University of California, Riverside.
